Brian Perry Civil
Over Alert Level 4 Lockdown Brian Perry Civil were contracted to do an upgrade to the runway lights at Auckland Airport, as part of this they needed to be able to provide strong consolidated concrete bases. Any faults picked up in these would result in a complete demolition and rebuild.
MWE was approached to design and build a moveable platform to span a 6m pad with multiple pencil vibrators to give consistent consolidated concrete. The timeframe given to utilise the shut-down period was minimal and from a rough pencil concept, a working machine was delivered and in production within two weeks.
Once the initial design and concept was validated and production and performance deadlines met, the machine was bought back for a few design improvements and the project completed successfully.
